Pneumonia scare

Today I took Eve to the doctor for her two-month checkup. She has had a cold and congestion, and for the past few days her coughing has caused her to throw up frequently. I asked the doctor about it, and the doctor prescribed breathing treatments and an x-ray. I haven’t heard the final diagnosis, but the doctor was concerned that Eve could have pneumonia, which scared me. Kurt and Jenny came over this evening for family home evening and Kurt and Karl were able to give Eve a blessing. I’m grateful for the priesthood. Hopefully the congestion and throwing up will clear up soon and Eve can resume her life of cuteness.

January freeze

It has been a super busy week. Last night we had a frost and the next couple of nights are supposed to be even colder, so Karl covered all of our citrus trees and I helped harvest the fruit. This is the first year we've had any fruit worth mentioning. So today, we are juicing all of the lemons and freezing the juice, and enjoying our grapefruit. Hopefully in coming years we'll get some oranges too. This kind of weather means everyone further north is really getting their toes chilled!

Eve is growing well and is as cute as ever. But recently she has been throwing up after eating. Last night I think her tummy hurt, because I was up with her until 3 am. I am tired! She smiles at Karl and coos now, and is a good baby. Thursday at the park Chet was a bit cranky, so I had both of them in my lap. I said to the other moms, "Aren't you jealous? I get to hold two babies all the time!"

This week I also made some yogurt again. I made some with Tom during his visit. It is fun to have a fridge full of yogurt--I made 6 quarts. I tried making ham and bean soup, which turned out good. I still have to try out the solar oven I got for Christmas. Does anyone else have one and have favorite recipes?

Finally, I am taking the plunge: I ordered some cloth diapers from http://sunbabydiapers.com/  I want to try them and see what they are like. Even if I go back to disposable, I really want them for my emergency storage. But I may just love not buying diapers every month. Who knows?
